2016 Te Wa Kahutara Pinot Noir
Full flavoured yet smooth on the palate. Some complexity with good structure, excellent cellaring potential. The palate is also bright and focused with a distinctive fruit character. Cellaring has indicated fine tannins and a long finish.
Grown on the alluvial gravels of the Martinborough Terrace, the mature fruit was hand picked and destemmed into open top fermenters and hand plunged. The multiple clones of Abel, clones 5 & 6, Mariafeld,10/5 along with a number of Dijon clones were fermented separately, and after pressing settled in vats briefly prior to being individually barreled in French oak for 10 months.
Pinot in the traditional Martinborough style – complex and structured.
